Well by "Über Ski Vacation" is now over and I am back to the lovely job of answering you lovely emails... well that and Labo parties, but I only have one more party here in Sendai. Then its back to Tokyo on the 1st to start my Japanese class for one month. But enough about what is going to happen, lets recap about my trip.
So I start from a small town called Aizuwakamatsu City. This was because I had to do a bunch of labo parties down there. Anyho, I left from there all the way up to the town called Yokote city. Where i met my friend Iwamiya-san. And the next 4 days was wonderful skiing. But I am sorry now picture for you to see. I used a disposable camera for I was worried about it getting wet of falling on it. Wait. I do have one picture. I went to a museum one day after skiing. There I was told about this festival where the people of Yokote build to giant poles and the race up a snow covered hill to see who can get to the top first. To here is one of the poles that they take up.
So I had some good food and met some more nice people but then on the 23rd I had to leave for my 10hrs train ride to Sapporo city. I was there for 4 days but only 1 day of skiing. Still I think they are some of the funniest days I have had in Japan.
On the last day we went to the "Sapporo Bier Gratin." And no that is not a typo, its spelled like the on every thing, see for your self.
Now I hope this is not an other addition to the "Engrish" sightings, but rather the way they spell "Beer Garden" in German or something. I will get some conformation on this soon.
Never the less at the "Bier Gratin" be got all you can eat "Genghis Khan" which is thinly sliced lamb cooked on the metal pan that some times looks like Genghis Khan's helmet, hence the name. And all you can drink Sapporo beer, served in 1liter mugs. I will let you guys guess how many I drank.
Here a picture of the Nagamoris, Me and TsuTus-chan at the Beer Gardens.
After that we went back to celebrate a festival where they throw peanuts at demons to let in good spirits. Guess who got to be the demon.
Well then next day I had to get up to take the 8hr train ride back to sendai. So that about all that happened on my trip.
If have a few going away parties to go to in the next few days and pack my suit cases, so I dont think anything with be put up until around the 3rd of February. But dont worry I have the same host family in Tokyo to that means lots of highspeed internet to use.
Matta Ne!
Oh yes I have made a page with all of the picture i took on the vacation and I will upload it when I get to Tokyo.
